Jianhua Yang, Ph.D., Chairman and CEO
Dr. Jianhua Yang, has been chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Shanghai Chemspec since he found it in 1996. Dr. Yang has more than 20 years of experience in fluorinated specialty chemicals. Dr. Yang graduated from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a Ph.D. in science in 1988. In 1991, Dr. Yang was awarded the National Natural Science Award (First Class) by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and in 1993, was awarded with the National Natural Science Award (Second Class) by the State Commission on Science and Technology of China.

David Yunhung Tang, Ph.D., Executive Vice President
Dr. David Yunhung Tang has worked for Shanghai Chemspec as Executive Vice President overseeing our marketing activities since 2001. Dr. Tang has more than 30 years of experience in fluorinated specialty chemicals. He worked for Occidental Chemical Corporation, Buffalo, New York, from 1977 to 2000, with increasing responsibilities as research scientist, technology group leader, technical manager, senior manager, general manager of a joint venture of Occidental Chemical Corporation and research fellow. He obtained Ph.D. in Chemistry from Indiana University, USA in 1973, an MBA degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA in 1985, and he completed an Executive Management program at Northeastern University in 1987.

Peter H.C.Shu , Ph.D., Senior Vice President
Dr. Shu joined Chemspec in Oct 2009 with over 30 years of experience in marketing, sales, technology and management in multinational chemical companies in the United States, Hong Kong and Taipei. Most recently, Dr. Shu served as Global Marketing Manager in the Plastics Additives Business of Rohm and Haas, which is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dow Chemical Company. In this position, he directed a global strategic marketing and sales team. He also developed and implemented a global marketing and sales strategy. Prior to Rohm and Haas, Dr. Shu held a variety of roles with increasing responsibilities at Bayer AG from 1985 to 2005. He contributed significantly to the fast and profitable growth of various Bayer companies through his leadership in marketing and new business development, which included a number of strategic alliances and joint ventures. Dr. Shu holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an MBA from the State University of New York at Albany, an M.S. in Organic Chemistry from the Ohio State University, and a B.S. in Chemistry from National Taiwan University. Dr. Shu has nine patents and 17 publications.

Jinhua (Jim) Chen, Ph.D.,Vice President
Dr. Jinhua (Jim) Chen, is our VP of Marketing . He joined Chemspec in June 2008, and used to be the Director of R&D, Vice President of R&D before joining the Marketing Department. Prior to Chemspec, Dr. Chen was an associate research investigator in the Global Pharmaceutical Research and Development Division at Abbott Laboratories in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Chen was also an American Chemical Society Industrial Innovation Award winner and a member of the teams at Abbott Laboratories which launched the drugs Ritonavir and Lopinavir. He holds a Ph.D. in organometallic chemistry from the University of New Brunswick in Canada and a B.S. in organic chemistry from Xiamen University in the People’s Republic of China.

Yuelie Lu, Ph.D., Vice President
Dr. Yuelie Lu joined Shanghai Chemspec Corporation in June of 2009 as the Vice President of Marketing. Dr. Lu has extensive experience in pharmaceutical chemical process research and development, project management, and CMC management. Prior to joining Chemspec, Dr. Lu held a broad range of responsibilities at multiple pharmaceutical companies in the United States, with his two most recent positions being an associate director of chemical development at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals in New Jersey and a principle scientist at Amgen Inc. In California. Dr. Lu holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University in Indiana and a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Science & Technology of China.

Yunlong Yuan, Vice President
Mr. Yunlong Yuan is our Vice President responsible for our manufacturing processes and operations,EHS, purchasing and plant construction. From 1998 to 2007, he was Director of Research and Development for Shanghai Chemspec and was responsible for the research and development activities of Shanghai Chemspec along with Dr. Yang. Mr. Yuan has more than 10 years of experience in fluorinated specialty chemicals. Mr. Yuan graduated from the Chemistry Department of East China University of Science andTechnology, specializing in Industrial Catalysis in 1996. Prior to joining our Group, he served as a technician with Nanjing Chemical Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd.

Zixin Wang, Vice President
Mr. Zixin Wang is our vice president responsible for administration and human resources. From 2006 to 2007, he was the Financial Controller of Shanghai Chemspec. Prior to joining us, he served as a project manager of Shanghai Boning Finance Advisory Limited, where he was responsible for advising on offshore initial public offerings of Chinese companies and investment activities in China of foreign companies. In 2004, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Accounting from Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Wujun Yang, Vice President
Mr. Wujun Yang, our vice president, is responsible for overseeing Office and General Service Support.. Mr. Yang has worked for Shanghai Chemspec since 1997. Mr. Yang has more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing of chemicals. Mr. Yang graduated from the East China University of Science & Technology, majoring in Chemical Engineering in 1977. Prior to joining our Group, he served as an engineer with the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1986 to 1996.
